How long will it take me to complete a Private Pilot License?

This depends on each person. Should you be a full time student, you can complete the PPL certificate in 3-5 months. Should you be part time, it will depend on how much time you dedicate to completing the qualification.

What subjects do I need to write to become a pilot?

There are a number of subjects which one needs to study and then pass the exams. Your initial exams are mentioned on our courses page. Please see our courses for detailed information on each qualification.

What is the pass rate for the exams

The South African Civil Aviation Authority requires a minimum of 75% to pass the theoretical exams.

How long do I have to complete the exams

Once you have passed the first exam for that certificate, you will have 18 months to complete the rest of the subjects for that specific license. Example: I you have written air law for a private pilot licence and have passed, you have a 18 months to complete the other theory exams before having to start over.

Do you offer an accomodation?

MBSF does not have private accommodation. We can assist you with finding suitable accommodation. There are a number of reliable self-catering options available. 

How much does accommodation cost?

Depending on your personal needs, accommodation prices vary from R3,500.00 - R6,000.00 per month.
